Get involved in Macmillan Coffee Mornings in the UK

If you haven’t already organised or heard about Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning which will be happening on 25 September, there is still time. You can request a kit from Macmillan here.
The Macmillan Charity is renowned for the assistance it provides to people suffering from cancer and their friends and families. The coffee morning campaign started in 1991 when the proceeds of a local committee coffee morning were donated to MacMillan’s fund. Because of the success of this first event, Macmillan decided to launch a nationwide annual campaign where people could hold coffee mornings in their own homes, or anywhere else, to raise funds.
25th Anniversary of World’s Biggest Coffee Morning Campaign
This year marks the 25th anniversary of this popular fundraising event and £1.38 million has been raised during that time. In the second year 2,600 coffee morning events were hosted throughout the UK and the campaign grows from strength to strength.
The ethos of Macmillan is that nobody should have to deal with cancer on their own. The charity provides medical assistance, practical and emotional support as well as financial help when needed. It also campaigns for improved standards in cancer care.
With 2.5 million cancer sufferers in Great Britain, and a predicted 4 million in 15 years’ time these coffee morning fundraisers greatly enhance the possibility of everyone getting a Macmillan nurse and support from the charity. you can meet the Macmillan Team by watching the video below.

If you don’t have time to organise your own event, you can always join one of the organised coffee mornings or just call in on one of them to participate. And even if you don’t drink coffee you can still have a slice of delicious cake.
Coffee mornings can be held at any time of the year and here at the Coffee Wholesalers we will be donating £1 for every kilo of Special Origin coffee purchased from us to the MacMillan Charity. Do remember that we will also give one bag of free coffee beans for every 5 kilos purchased.
Tell us how you got on
We would love to know about your coffee mornings and how much they raised for Macmillan Cancer Support and we’ll publish them on our blog to raise more awareness.
Good luck.
